“What the fuck’s that noise?” Owen grumbled as he staggered into the Hub, bleary-eyed and slightly hungover, having been dragged from someone else’s bed in the middle on the night to deal with an undisclosed medical emergency. “Sounds like the world’s biggest cat trying to cough up a hairball.”

 
“It’s Myfanwy, she’s caught a cold,” Ianto said, hurrying past the medic with a steaming bucket of water in one hand and what looked like an old bedspread rolled up under his other arm. “I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised, considering how cold and wet this summer’s been. I thought I’d see if steam inhalation will help her breathing. It’s not as if the poor old girl can blow her nose.”

 
“That’s what you called me for? A dinosaur with a head cold?”
 

The croaking, hacking sound came again, and Ianto bustled away in the direction of Myfanwy’s eyrie. “Yes, Owen, because you’re a doctor and I’d hoped you could figure out what decongestants would be safe for her. Maybe I should’ve called Martha instead; at least she’d try to help the patient.”

 
Owen sighed. “Fine, I’ll take a look, but if she sneezes on me, you’re payin’ the cleaning bill.”

That's exactly what Owen deserves for being mean to Myfanwy.

Well, I think Ianto will make sure he isn't mean to her while he's treating her. Mean words won't count if Owen does his job.

I don't think Ianto will let Owen get away with even mean words. Myfanwt is his baby,

She is, but I think he's more concerned with getting her well again than with punishing Owen.

Depends on how good a job Owen does. Ianto wouldn't want to deter him from helping in the future. Besides, I think Owen does care, he's just grumpy because it's late and he's a bit hungover.

He had Katie then, and a better outlook on the world. Now he's jaded and still grieving the life he thought they would have together. I feel sorry for him.

I feel sorry for him for what happened to Katie, but he doesn't have to be nasty. Ianto lost Lisa and he doesn't take it out on other people. And look at all the losses Jack has had. I wonder if there's not more to Owen's hatefulness than Katie.
