“And in weather news, the hurricane that’s been battering the South Carolina coastline has veered northwards, travelling up the coast. The outer edge is expected to hit New York around noon tomorrow, bringing winds in excess of seventy miles an hour along with heavy rain…”
Coffee mug halfway to his mouth, Dee threw the radio a disgusted look. “Well, that puts the kibosh on our plans for the weekend. No point goin’ campin’ if all it’s gonna do is rain on us. Stupid storm. So much for the good weather they were forecastin’ yesterday.”
Ryo set their breakfast on the table, it being his turn to cook, and sank into his chair with a disappointed sigh. “No point in going anywhere at all, we might as well just stay home instead of risking getting blown inside out and soaked to the skin. This is the third time this year we’ve had to cancel a trip.”
“Ah well, nothin’ we can do about it, and stayin’ here all warm and cosy won’t be so bad. At least we’re not scheduled to work.”
“True.”
“’Sides, I’m sure we can think of somethin’ fun to do on our weekend off.” Dee winked.
“Hornball!”
The End

Date: 2024-09-25 12:19 am (UTC)And you are making me think of Starsky & Hutch, you aren't by chance a follower of that fandom are you? It's old and still producing a ton of new fic. And a virtual convention this weekend too.

Date: 2024-09-25 09:48 am (UTC)I grew up with Starsky and Hutch, among other shows, loved those guys. I don't write in the fandom, but one of my online friends does on occasion. That's classic TV.
Thank you!
