A/N: Double drabble.
“A man got stabbed in the middle of a crowd, and no one saw anything. How does that even happen?” Ryo complained to his partner. “Are people really so oblivious these days, or do they just think that by denying they saw what happened they can avoid getting involved?”
Dee shrugged. “Probably a bit of both. I mean, it was a big crowd, most of the people would’a been too far away to see anything, and the ones close enough, who might’a seen the attacker, don’t wanna say anything in case he comes after them next.”
“Which is understandable, I suppose.” Ryo sighed and slumped down onto one of the hard chairs in the hospital waiting area. “There’s one person who almost certainly saw the attacker though.”
“Yeah, the victim.” Dee sat down beside his partner. “If he survives.”
“The surgeon sounded confident, but even if our victim comes through surgery okay, it’ll be a while before we can question him.”
“In the meantime, we got people goin’ through all the photos and video footage from phones and CCTV. Maybe there’s somethin’ there can give us a clue to the attacker’s identity.”
“All we can do is hope.”
“And wait.”
