A/N: Double drabble.
“I can’t believe it!” JJ said, stomping into the squad room, red-faced, although whether from anger or embarrassment, it was hard to tell.
“Can’t believe what?” Drake looked up from the paperwork he was wading through.
“Commissioner Rose!”
“What’d Rose do this time?” As much as JJ annoyed him, Dee disliked the commissioner even more. JJ was merely a lovestruck, starry-eyed stalker, while Commissioner Rose was a rival for Ryo’s attentions, and any ammunition Dee could gather to use against his superior was welcome.
“He called me into his office and had the audacity to tell me that the way I dress reflects badly on the rest of the department! Me! I’m the best-dressed detective in the whole of the NYPD! He thinks I should tone it down!”
“Why?” Ryo looked as baffled as he sounded. “You dress tastefully, nothing particularly flashy. If anything, you serve as a good example to the rest of us, to dress as well and as smartly as we can afford.”
“I know!” JJ folded his arms over his chest. “If anyone needs to tone it down, it’s him! He’s all designer labels and gold Rolex, and he’s criticising ME!”
Dee shrugged. “Ain’t no justice.”
