Summary: With Sunnydale gone, all Buffy can do is move on.

After her parents had divorced and Buffy’s mom had uprooted them both from their lives to start over in Sunnydale, Buffy had wondered if the small coastal town would ever feel like home, if she would ever manage to fit in, find hew friends, build a new life. But she had, and in many ways, it had been better than her old life, even if it had meant dying a couple of times, gaining an unexpected sister, and burying her mom.

 
She’d gained better friends, people she didn’t have to lie to, a Watcher who genuinely cared about her as a person, and who became almost like a father to her, several boyfriends, including a vampire with a soul… She’d even gotten into college, something she’d never expected.

 
But now her life had been upended again, the town she’d come to consider home was no more than a smoking crater in the ground, and she’d lost everything except what she had with her. This time, she couldn’t go back; there was nothing to go back to. All she could do was move forward, and hope that someday she would find somewhere else she could settle down and live her life.

Poor Buffy. Life is so hard on her.

That's how it is for Slayers, I guess. They don't have it easy, and Buffy had it worse than some, though she lived longer than many. At least she still has her friends.
