A/N: Triple drabble and a half, 350 words.
“Ooh, cupcakes!” Dee stalked towards the plate, eager hand reaching to snag a sweet treat, only to find his path blocked.
“Oh no you don’t! You keep your hands off those, they’re not for you!”
“What?” Dee couldn’t believe what he was hearing. JJ was bringing food to the precinct, and he wasn’t the intended recipient? Okay, so he’d always rejected the smaller man’s gifts and edible offerings, at least he had when JJ was actually present, although it hadn’t stopped him snagging the odd muffin, cookie, cupcake, or candy when no one was looking, but that was beside the point.
“Get away now!” JJ actually made shooing motions with his hands. “They’re for Drake, it’s his birthday.”
Dee all but pouted. “Then maybe you should’a bought enough for everybody. It’s hardly fair, leavin’ somethin’ so temptin’ where everyone can see it if we’re not gonna get any.”
“I didn’t buy them, I baked them. Ryo gave me the recipe. Now shoo!” Again with the flappy hands!
Dee stomped back to his desk and scowled at his partner. “Traitor!”
Ryo had the nerve to snicker. “I emailed JJ my cupcake recipe so he could make something nice for his partner’s birthday. How is that being a traitor?”
“It just is. You know how much I love your cupcakes!”
“You love everything I bake.”
“Exactly! And now you’re sidin’ with the enemy!”
“Just because I gave JJ a copy of my cupcake recipe does not mean I’m in collusion with the enemy, Dee. Besides, I thought JJ stopped being the enemy when he gave up stalking you and started dating Drake.”
Dee huffed. “You’re an enabler!”
“Oh, that’s harsh!” Ryo grinned. “And here I thought I was helping a friend.”
“That’s easy for you to say, but now I have to sit here while someone else is eatin’ cupcakes! That’s cruel and unusual punishment! I’m gonna be sufferin’ and it’s all your fault!”
“If I hadn’t given JJ the recipe, he would’ve found one somewhere else.”
“Yeah, but at least then I wouldn’t be sufferin’ ‘cause of somethin’ my partner did.”
