Jack stared at the SUV in disbelief. Now what was he going to do?
Coming up behind him, Ianto studied the problem. “I did tell you not to park it there overnight.”
“Where else was I supposed to park? Your car was under the carport, and your driveway’s blocked by a foot of snow from your neighbour helpfully clearing the pavement. There’s only so much room to park on the street, and someone else parked outside your house.”
“There were still other spots that aren’t under trees and a leaky downspout. The warmer weather yesterday evening that had the snow and ice melting, followed by a sudden drop in temperature…” Ianto shrugged. “You should’ve known what would happen. It’s basic science.”
The SUV stood at the side of the road looking like a bizarre ice sculpture, almost completely encased in a sheet of ice from where water had dripped down on it from above, and been splashed against the driver’s side by passing cars.
“But… we need it! We can’t do our job without it!” Jack turned to Ianto, a stricken expression on his face. “We can’t even get to the Hub!”
“We’ll have to walk to work this morning.”
