Summary: Sometime in the future, Buffy looks back at her early life, when things were simpler.

A/N: Double drabble.
Life’s so full of twists and turns. When she was a child, Buffy would never have imagined things turning out this way, and even now, there are times she wonders how she wound up with such a crazy life. There are even days she wonders if it’s real, or if everything she remembers really is some crazy delusion made up by her own demented imagination.
She knows it’s not, it’s as real as… well, reality. It’s not a dream, a delusion, or a hallucination, although sometimes, she wishes it were, because it’s harder than she ever would have thought, back when she’d played at superheroes with her cousin. Now she’s a real superhero, and… Well, she’s sort of stuck with that, whether she likes it or not, and her opinion varies from day to day.
If she could turn back time to when life was simpler, when what she’d wanted most had been to skate like her hero, Dorothy Hamill, would she do it? Would she want to go back and start over, perhaps not be called as the Slayer? Buffy doesn’t know, but as she watches happy people skating on a frozen lake, she wishes she could join them.
