So, what does the average woman buy when she gets a bit of money for Christmas? Clothes? Make-up? Jewellery? Perfume? Shoes?
My niece generally buys clothes or puts it towards a holiday. My sister almost always buys a new handbag, one of those expensive ones.
Me? I bought a small meteorite...
Wonder what that says about me 0_0
Guess I'll never be the average woman!

Date: 2011-12-29 04:58 pm (UTC)I wonder how many thousands or millions of years ago it fell to earth... I understand some can date back almost to the formation of the earth, which is pretty mind-boggling!

Date: 2011-12-30 12:16 pm (UTC)Whenever there's something on TV about dinosaurs, I watch it if I can! I watch more documentaries than TV shows these days, there are so many good ones on British TV. Not much on dinos recently though. I love nature programmes and stuff on archaeology and the Egyptians too. I'm also fascinated by myths and folklore from all over the world. Got a lot of books on those subjects too, but again they're all in storage. I really hate that, I want my booksaround me, but until we get redecorated and sorted post-renovation work, I won't be able to get all my stuff back. Most of my knitting wool is in storage too, along with a lot of other craft stuff. I have to keep myself occupied since I can't work either. Benefits don't go far, as you know, so ebay has been a boon for getting craft supplies at a fraction of shop costs. Means I can do things I enjoy without spending much =)

Date: 2011-12-30 08:29 pm (UTC)Oh I wish I had a team of people who could come to my house and make me get rid of clutter, stuff I don't use, wear, video VHS tapes!...never watch them anymore and I have one of those HUGE radios from the 80's, 90's that you can barely pic up with 2 tape decks, a CD player, and detachable speakers. Oh my gosh! It has set and collected dust for like 13 years! Never use it anymore. Digressing again...I would like them to just clean everything out, dust clean out all the cobwebs+...(you don't want to know) and then arrange everything neatly maybe put up shelves if there is room to store some things on. I know I am dreaming...no money for that + I think when they saw our house, they would run away screaming!
I wish I had a hobby like you have. Truthfully I hate any kind of sewing even putting buttons back on shirts though I do it. Right now I need to fix a shirt Alex needs that is unraveling on the sleeve. I think I can fix it. About all I have ever done.
I have some stuff I bought on ebay like collections of "The X-files" TV show and "Lord of the Rings," but I just can't part with most of it. Maybe some bookmarks since I rarely read. LOL! How sad I know.
Have to go darnit! Husband wants me to go with him and my son to the park. Alex wants to ride his new bike and Michael is making me get out of the house where I hide. lol!
Talk again soon. :D

Date: 2011-12-30 09:45 pm (UTC)Oh, I HATE sewing, I was useless at school. I can sew on buttons, but that's about it. I love doing cross stitch though - I end up with something pretty and all I have to do is follow a chart! I'm also a keen knitter, though I haven't done much for a few years as I made myself so many sweaters and cardigans. I can do macrame (tying knots, basically. Have you seem the wols I make? There are pictures on my journal somewhere) and I make earrings, which is pretty easy except it can be hard on the eyes when working with small beads. I just like making things =) I have pierced ears so I make dangly earrings that I would wear myself.
I have books on hauntings and things like that too. I've never seen a ghost, but my mum and my aunt both have been visited by deceased relatives.
*hugs* Have fun!
Hey girl!
