“You sit right there,” Dee said firmly. “I’ll take care of everything, no need for you to lift a finger. Got it?”

 
Ryo frowned. “I’m not incapable, Dee, and it’s not like I’m incapacitated; it’s just a fractured collarbone and bruised ribs. There’s nothing wrong with my legs, I can still walk.”
 

“It’s not just your ribs bruised, babe; I saw ya at the hospital when they were examinin’ ya and you got bruises all over. Ya look like an abstract paintin’ in shades of blue, black, green, and purple. It’s not pretty.”
 

“You’re exaggerating again, you always do that. I’m fine.”
 

“You’re not fine, ya just had a guy the size of a gorilla on steroids fall on ya. Only reason you’re not hurtin’ all over is ‘cause of the pain meds they gave ya at the hospital. When they wear off, you’re really gonna feel it.”

 
“All the more reason I should get up and move around so I don’t stiffen up. Sitting still will just make it worse.”
 

Dee rolled his eyes. “Ya just climbed three flights of stairs. Sittin’ down for a bit while I make ya a cup of tea and fix us both somethin’ to eat won’t kill ya, so just relax. You’re lucky ya didn’t end up with a concussion.”
 

“And what happens if I sit here and stiffen up so I can barely move?”
 

Leaning over, Dee planted a kiss on the top of Ryo’s head. “Guess I’ll just haveta wait on ya hand and foot until ya recover, and I don’t mind doin’ that one bit. I’ll be your willin’ slave.”

 
“You will, huh?”
 

“Oh yeah, I’ll order food, make your drinks, fetch your pain meds, help ya shower, and provide massages whenever ya want.”

 
“Guess I could live with that.”
