Summary: For once, Dee and Ryo have the whole weekend off.

A/N: Double drabble.
 


 
Police work was twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, fifty-two weeks a year. Even on public holidays, even on that one extra day during a leap year, there had to be cops on duty because crime didn’t take vacations.

 
Nevertheless, every so often Dee and Ryo would get two consecutive days off, and sometimes, like now, they’d even coincide with a weekend. Somehow that always felt a bit more special than taking Tuesday and Wednesday off, or Wednesday and Thursday. They got to be off work at the same time as people who worked nine to five in an office, Monday through Friday.

 
“Party time!” Dee whooped. “No more work until next week!”
 

Ryo snorted. “It’s still only two days, Dee.”
 

“And three nights!” Dee reminded his lover. To make things even better, they’d been working first shift, so they had all evening as well as the weekend to do whatever they wanted. “Works out more like two and a half days.”

 
“What shall we do with all this time on our hands?” Ryo’s smile was teasing.

 
“I’m easy. What d’you wanna do?”
 

Come Monday they’d be back at work, but for now their time was their own.
