“Look,” Ianto said, breathless and panting, sweat dripping down his face. “If it doesn’t want to go in the lorry, we can’t force it to.” The lumbering creature was digging its heels in, if it had heels, and refusing to even step onto the ramp leading into the rear of the vehicle.
“But we can’t leave it wandering around out here!” Tosh protested. “Someone might see it, and then they’d probably take photos, put them up on the internet, and I’d be up all night tracking them down and deleting them!”
“I never said anything about leaving it here,” Ianto pointed out. “It’s just that even with everyone working together, we don’t have the physical strength to make it do something it doesn’t want to do. We’ll just have to find some other way of persuading it to get in the lorry.”
“Maybe if we offer it some food,” said Rhys.
“That would be a great idea, if we knew what it eats. Right now, we don’t even know what it IS, except that it’s very big, heavy, and stubborn.”
Suddenly, the huge creature gave a loud bellow and plunged up the ramp.
Jack grinned. “Stuck a pin in it!”
