Jack and Ianto hadn’t exactly planned to have children; it wasn’t as if they’d sat down at the kitchen table, discussed the matter, gone over all the pros and cons together, and come to an informed decision. They hadn’t even discussed the possibility, or whether either of them WANTED to become parents, although fortunately it had turned out that both of them did.

 
Telling the team that they were expecting had resulted in mixed reactions. Most of their colleagues had been varying degrees of happy for them, and Owen had been predictably horrified at having to act as obstetrician to a man with man parts. Jack, of course, found that hilarious, and Ianto was also amused. What proved more complicated was telling Rhi the good news.

 
“What made you decide to try for a baby?” she asked, once she’d managed to get her head around the fact that her very male brother-in-law was expecting.
 

“Ah, well, we sort of didn’t. I mean, we hadn’t even discussed kids, because… Well, you know how dangerous our job can be, but then against all odds, Jack got pregnant, and that kind of made the decision for us. The baby’s unplanned, but not unwanted.”

Aww! They both deserve to have a family (which they might have decided to forgo if left up to them).

I'm just happy that their relationship is such that Rhiannon thought the pregnancy was intentional.
