Summary: Meriel has a surprise for her daddies.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

“Today,” Meriel’s new teacher announced, “we’re going to make Father’s Day cards for our daddies.”

Meriel raised her hand.

“Please Miss, I have two daddies, can I make two cards?”

“Yes, of course, if that’s what you want.”

Satisfied, Meriel set to work.

The teacher had bought lots of cutout shapes for them to use and Meriel found a flying dinosaur sort of like Myfanwy, even though it was red. She stuck that on Taddy’s card, and a blue spaceship on Daddy’s.

“Happy Father’s Day!”

Jack and Ianto looked at their cards and smiled.

“Thank you, sweetheart, these are perfect!”

I want to have a kid some day. I want to feel proud of something because well... I dont feel proud of anything and sometimes I wonder if my mum does either you know? Like when they look you sometimes and then look at the others, in my case my younger brother and older sister. My older sister stayed on till 6th year at school and went to Uni and got one of the highest things you can get. My brothers in 5th year and probably either going to go to college and then Uni or something and then there was me. At school every teacher seemed to compare me to both my brother and my sister and it always put me down. My mum always appreciates my brother and sisters choices in sports and pastimes and the there is me. I want a life with horses and I write stories and she's like, have a more realistic look at life with horses, little money and rubbish jobs. Then there will be get your head out of the clouds and actually do something useful.

Then there will be days were she is happy with my choice of carer path and laughs with me when I do tell her about things I have written.

I want someone I can be proud of and I can't wait for that day!!

The trick is to be proud of whatever you do. I wanted a career, but my health screwed that up. My sister wanted a family, got that, now has a successful career and I'm stuck with poor health and the thankless task of being mum's carer. BUT I'm proud of what I've achieved with my writing and I don't care what anyone else thinks. I'm proud of what I do with my crafts too. Those are the things that give me pleasure and make me look forward to every day.

Look at what you've achieved with your writing in the past few weeks and be proud of that, because you deserve to be. And do what will make you happy, it's your life. Your mum wants what's best for you, but only you can decide what that is. Then if and when you have children, be proud of them whatever and help them to follow their own dreams

Guess you're right and I must put out there that I am very proud of my writing and how drastically it has changed since I started on these websites. You know my favorite one I have written for this free-for-all has to be Paint It Gold which I think was the last on I wrote.

Makes me feel better knowing I can put everything I have got into someone else. Stops it hurting for a while I guess! I must catch up I am falling behind again!
