Summary: Rhiannon is the last person Ianto was expecting to run into.

Jack was almost back to the SUV, Ianto-Crow perched on his shoulder, having used his sharp crow eyesight to pinpoint the small object the Rift had just dropped off, when a familiar voice called out his name.


“Jack! Fancy running into you! Ianto not with you? Oh…” Rhiannon drew back a couple of steps as Jack turned towards her and she caught sight of the large, glossy black bird snuggled up against the side of his neck. “There’s a…” She pointed uncertainly. “Is that a crow?”


“You know your birds!” Jack grinned whitely at Ianto’s sister, as if it surprised him that she could recognise a crow when she saw one.


Ianto-Crow rolled his eyes. “Caw!” He fluffed up his feathers and let them settle again.


“What’re you doing with a crow? Isn’t keeping wild birds illegal?”


“He’s not wild, and I’m not ‘keeping’ him; he works for Torchwood,” Jack explained. “Invaluable asset to the team. His eyesight’s even better than mine.” Jack reached up to stroke Ianto’s breast feathers; Ianto gently nibbled his finger.


“Right, well, when you see Ianto, will you remind him it’s David’s birthday next week?”


Jack smiled. “Of course, but I’m sure he already knows.”
