Owen paused in typing up the results from his latest autopsy to watch Nosy as it slithered past. There was something… off about the Fluff this morning. He’d never seen it move so slowly. Despite its impressive size, right now in a race between Nosy and a snail, the snail would probably win.

 
“Oi, Ianto!”

 
“You bellowed?” The voice came from right behind Owen, making him almost jump out of his skin.
 

“Jesus Christ! D’you have to sneak around like that?”


“I don’t sneak, you just don’t pay attention to what’s going on around you.”
 

“Not true! If I’m not paying attention, then how do I know there’s something up with Nosy? Did you forget to give the family Fluff its morning coffee?”
 

Ianto snorted. “Of course not!” The very idea that he might overlook something so important was insulting.

 
“So why’s it moving so slow?”
 

“Ah, you can blame Jack for that. He was teaching Nosy to play badminton yesterday; they were batting the shuttlecock back and forth for hours. I suspect Nosy’s feeling a bit stiff and sore this morning.”

 
Owen winced; five-and-a-half metres of sore muscles would not be fun.
 

“Maybe we should give it a massage…”
