“A unicycle!” Jack beamed with delight as he picked up the latest object to fall through the Rift. “I haven’t seen one of these since my time in the circus!”
 

Ianto raised an eyebrow. “I gather you’re not talking about the Night Travellers’ carnival.”

 
“No, this was back in… Oh, the mid-Fifties, I think. After World War Two anyway. I went undercover because Torchwood One suspected that one of the performers was an alien. Turned out he was just double jointed, and very flexible. Anyway, while I was there, doing a very daring tightrope walking act, I learned to ride a unicycle. I was going to incorporate it into my act, but the assignment ended before I got the chance. Pity.”
 

“So you can really ride that thing?” Owen looked sceptical.
 

“Of course I can!” Jack shrugged out of his coat and passed it to Ianto. “Hold this for me, would you? I don’t want it getting caught in the wheel.”

 
Tucking the seat between his legs, Jack rocked a bit as he found his balance, but then he was off, riding rings around his team.

 
“Ianto, want me to teach you? You could zip around the archives on this!”
