As her mom leaves the room to re-do the sandwich she made, and to fetch the various snacks and drinks her friends want, Buffy smiles at the picture Ryan drew for her. It’s kinda nice to be appreciated for her heroics, like getting an award or something.

 
“You know, as much as it sucked getting the flu and winding up in the hospital, maybe it wasn’t all bad. I mean, I killed a monster and saved a bunch of kids; if I hadn’t gotten sick, I never would’ve known about Der Kindestod.”

 
Willow nods. “Every cloud has a silver lining.”
 

“Or at least a less cloudy one,” Xander says.
 

“Something like that.” Buffy smirks slightly. “I kinda want to hang this on my wall, as a reminder that even when things are looking really bad they can turn out okay, only I think it would freak my mom out. I’m keeping it though, I’ll just put it somewhere she won’t see it.”

 
“That would probably be best,” Willow agrees.
 

“You’re a hero though, Buff! I mean, not that you weren’t before, but now other people know.”
 

“You’re practically famous!” Willow exclaims.
 

“I think I’d rather keep my secret identity secret.”
