Summary: There’s one possession the Doctor wants more than anything.

Possessions didn’t mean much to the Gallifreyan known by the title ‘Doctor’. He had a home, a family, a granddaughter, and he was… comfortable, he supposed. He had what he needed, had no requirement for money, or anything wealth could buy, and yet he couldn’t say that he was satisfied with his life.

 
He wanted more, but what he yearned for was something intangible rather than material, a state of being, freedom…
 

And when he discovered the obsolete TARDIS, he knew he’d found what he needed, the freedom to go wherever and whenever he chose. He’d never wanted anything more.
