A/N: Double drabble.
Everything in Torchwood Three’s archives, when Ianto was finally able to get down there, was still mostly intact but covered in dust, which wasn’t so surprising. The explosion that had detonated inside Jack must have shaken the Hub to its foundations; dust, dirt, and cobwebs falling from the high ceilings was inevitable.
What was more remarkable was how little physical damage had been caused. A few items had toppled over on their shelves, a few others had fallen to the floor, and three or four racks of shelving were leaning a bit, but nothing had collapsed, even if in one case that was only because of there being several large crates under the bottom shelf, keeping the whole structure upright.
“How does it look?” Jack asked, when Ianto returned to the main Hub, from which most of the wreckage had already been cleared.
“Better than I could’ve hoped,” Ianto admitted with a sigh.
“You don’t sound too cheerful about that.”
“Oh, I am, it’s a relief there’s so little damage, it’s just… I’d almost got everything down there sorted and tidy, and now I’m going to have to dust every shelf and everything on them. It’s going to take months!”
The End
