Summary: Preparing his companions for what they might see just spoils things for everyone.

There was no way to properly prepare his companions for the adventures they would have once they joined him aboard the TARDIS, and honestly the Doctor wasn’t sure he would try, even if he could. Warnings tended to fall on deaf ears until people had seen for themselves, and anyway, their reactions were what mattered.
 

The wonder on their faces as they watched three moons go into eclipse, or saw gigantic tripodal Gnurthans striding across the prairies of Morrei, or viewed a frozen sea where the waves were taller than skyscrapers…
 

Explaining in advance would ruin the spectacle for them.
