Author:
Characters: Jack, Ianto, Team, OCs.
Rating: PG
Written For: Challenge 906: Sour, at
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: It can be difficult for Torchwood to keep their activities under wraps.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
In an ideal world, Torchwood would have been able to always operate behind the scenes, unseen or unnoticed by the rest of the city’s population, dealing with the various alien artefacts and living aliens that came through the Rift, the resident Weevil population, and the occasional invasion attempt, without drawing undue attention to themselves.
Sadly, for everyone concerned, they did not live in an ideal world, which probably accounted for Torchwood having the distinction of being the secret organisation that everyone and their brother knew about. It was hard to stay secret and still do their job.
Today was one of those days when keeping a low profile was proving impossible, mainly due to a large, irate alien, attempting to evade its pursuers, charging into a packed restaurant, upsetting both the diners and their tables.
The team worked as quickly and efficiently as they could, ushering the shaggy, bearlike creature into the corridor leading to the bathrooms, and hoping no one got a good enough look to realise it had four arms.
“Now what?” Ianto said.
“Out the back door into the alley,” Jack replied. “I’ll try to calm everyone down before things REALLY turn sour.”
“Good luck with that.”
