“Dammit, I’m hungry,” Dee grumbled as he and Ryo trudged up the stairs to their apartment. The elevator had been out for a week; the super said it would be fixed soon, but after a long day at work the last thing they felt like was climbing four flights.


“What’s wrong with that? I’m hungry too; I’ll fix us something as soon as we get…” Ryo pointed up the final flight “…up there.”


“Yeah, that’s great, but…”


“But what?” Ryo threw his partner an amused look.


“I’m horny too; hungry AND horny. I’m horngry!”


That drew a snort of laughter from Ryo. “That’s not news, Dee; that’s business as usual!”


“What’re you tryin’ to say here?”


“Nothing!” Ryo said innocently.


“No, it’s something. You got some kinda problem with it? I mean this is just the way I am…”


“Horngry.”


“Right, and if you don’t like it…”


“I never said that.”


Dee paused in mid-rant. “I guess you didn’t. Sorry, didn’t mean to jump all over ya…”


“No, you’ll do that later.” Ryo nudged Dee’s shoulder with his own.


“I’m just cranky ‘cause I’m…”


“Horngry?”


“Hungry.” Dee shoved Ryo playfully. “Dumbass!”


“Let’s go eat. Or something.”


“You read my mind!”
