“I feel like such an idiot,” Ryo mumbled, his face aflame. He and Dee were at the ER, waiting to find out if his finger was broken. “How am I going to explain this?”


“You could tell ‘em you trapped it in a door,” Dee suggested.


“But I didn’t.”


“They don’t have to know that.”


Would it be so bad to lie? It wasn’t like it would be some big, earth-shattering lie, only a little one to avoid embarrassment. Just remembering what had really happened was humiliating enough; how many men could say they’d broken their finger while having sex with their boyfriend? Maybe if Dee hadn’t been pounding into him so hard his hand wouldn’t have slipped and gotten caught in the slats of the headboard. That had kinda killed the mood. Even the endorphins from great sex couldn’t distract from searing agony.


Thankfully, after his finger was examined and x-rayed, turned out it was only dislocated, but once it was popped back into place it still had to be taped up to keep it from popping out again while the ligaments healed.


When the doctor asked how it happened, Dee just smiled and said, “We were movin’ furniture.”
