Summary: After a long night of loving, Dee is having trouble staying awake.

He’d only been at work an hour or so but already the warm sunlight coming through the squad room’s big windows was making Dee sleepy. How anyone expected him to stay awake through the whole of his shift on a day like this, especially if all he was doing was sitting at his desk wading through a stack of paperwork, he had no idea.


It didn’t help that he’d not gotten much sleep the night before, too busy enjoying Ryo’s company. They’d finally worn each other out and fallen asleep somewhere around four, only to have to get up again three hours later. Dee knew it was his own fault, but he hadn’t seen his partner outside of work for three whole weeks because Ryo had been helping Bikky revise for his exams every night. Yesterday had marked the end of exam season; Bikky had been celebrating by sleeping over at Carol’s, so Ryo had gone home with Dee, who’d been determined to make up for lost time.


A mug of coffee appeared on Dee’s desk.


“Looks like you’ll need this to keep you awake,” Ryo said, smiling and not looking the least bit tired.


That was so not fair!
