Dee knew he was in trouble when Ryo pulled away from his embrace and turned to glare at him.
 

“Okay, I’m sorry I scared your photographic subjects away, but in my defence, I was mostly asleep when ya grabbed my arm; I didn’t know what was goin’ on until after. If ya hadn’t said anything ya could’ve probably gotten your photos.”

 
Ryo’s shoulders sagged. “I suppose you’re right. It’s just, the deer were so close. I wanted you to see them too; you don’t get chances like that every day.”

 
“Did ya manage to get any shots at all before I screwed everything up?”
 

“A couple I think, but I don’t know how good they’ll be.” Ryo sounded disappointed.
 

“Maybe if I wait here outta the way, you could follow ‘em and try again.”
 

“They’re probably miles away by now; deer are fast and there’s no way of knowing which way they went. I’m not a tracker.”
 

“Oh.” Dee shrugged. “It was just a thought. I really didn’t mean to ruin things for ya.”
 

“In future, if I’m whispering you should probably keep your voice down too, and move slowly if you move at all.”

 
“I’ll bear that in mind.”
