Summary: Jack just wanted to exercise his dragon.

Since following Jack home several days earlier, Herman had been cooped up in the Hub. It didn’t seem fair, so Jack had decided to give the young dragon some exercise.
 

Taking him walkies had seemed the logical solution. It wasn’t like Herman hadn’t been out on the streets of Cardiff before; that was where Jack had found him, so clipping the leash to the dragon’s shiny new collar, he led Herman out through the Tourist Office entrance.
 

Everything went perfectly to start with. Herman trotted obediently along beside Jack, occasionally pausing to sniff at things, but then he spotted the cat.
 

The feral tabby was hunting around some dustbins in an alley. It hissed when it caught Herman’s scent, its back arching and its tail fluffing up. The dragon responded by pulling on his leash.

 
“Herman, no!” Jack said firmly, attempting to restrain the dragon.
 

“Rowr!” Herman pulled harder.
 

“No,” Jack repeated, but Herman wasn’t listening. He bounded towards the cat, and Jack, taken by surprise, was pulled off his feet, losing his grip on the leash.

 
Unsurprisingly, the cat shot away, with Herman right on its tail.
 

“Bad dragon!” Sitting up, Jack sighed. “Maybe he thinks he’s a dog.”
